Gramophone critic Peter Quantrill and Gramophone editor-in-chief James Jolly discuss the three contending Early Music recordings in the 2011 Gramophone Classical Music Awards, which this year are presented in association with Steinway & Sons.

The recordings are Alexander Agricola's Missa In myne Zyn from Capilla Flamenca (Ricercar), Striggio's 40-part Mass and Tallis's Spem in alium from I Fagiolini (Decca) and the complete consort music of William Byrd played by Phantasm (Linn Records).
