Specialist Classical Chart for week ending June 5, 2010
Lots of new entries this week: The London Philharmonic Orchestra presents the "50 Greatest Pieces of Classical Music"; the Monteverdi Choir performs Volume 11 in its Bach Cantata series; the LPO performs Elgar's Sea Pictures; the Victorian Opera Chorus and Orchestra presents Wallace's Lurline; Viktoria Mullova plays Beethoven violin sonatas; the Elora Festival Singers sing Whitacre choral music; Angelika Kirchschlager sings Brahms songs; Martin Roscoe performs Casella's Scarlattiana; and Dame Janet Baker appears in Monteverdi's Coronation of Poppea. Still no change at the top, though, for André Rieu.
