Guitarist Laura Lootens, winner of the 2022 Andrés Segovia Competition, has been signed by the Naïve label.

‘I’m thrilled to join Naïve,’ said Lootens, ‘a label that has the rare ability to honour tradition while boldly stepping into the future. I’ve always been inspired by contrasts - they bring tension, depth, and life to music. The guitar, with its vast range of timbres and colours, is the perfect platform to bridge contemporary audiences with a rich classical music heritage. I can't wait to continue this journey at Naïve and bring a fresh perspective that explores all of what the guitar is and can be!’

Aged 14, Laura Lootens began studying in Munich under the guidance of Franz Halász - one year later, she became one of the youngest students at the Munich University of Music and the Performing Arts where she now teaches.

Aurélia Rippe, Head of A&R at Naïve Classique, said: ‘Not only is Laura’s playing full of colours, sensibility and relies on an absolute technical mastery: she also possesses a modern vision of her repertoire and a creative approach of what it means to be a musician in 2025 that naturally align with Naïve’s DNA.’

The first album from the partnership, Diabolico, will be released on July 18, and you can watch an a performance of one of the tracks, the Larghetto affettuoso from Giuseppe Tartini ‘s ‘Devil’s Trill Sonata’, arranged from violin for guitar by Roberto Zadra – below.
