Pianist Francesco Piemontesi has signed a minimum three-disc recording deal with Naïve Classics. He will record works by Mozart and Debussy and release his first album for the French label in 2013.

A student of Alfred Brendel, Piemontesi won the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2007. A BBC New Generation Artist and recipient of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award, the pianist has performed with the London Philharmonic, BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna, Zurich and Scottish Chamber Orchestras. He has previously recorded as part of the ‘Martha Argerich and Friends’ series for EMI Classics and for Claves Records.

‘When I first heard Francesco play, I was immediately drawn to the sensitivity of his touch and was impressed by his choice of repertoire,’ said Naïve Classics director Didier Martin. ‘We look forward to a fruitful partnership.’
