The shortlist for the Gramophone Classical Music Awards 2013 has now been announced, featuring the best 66 recordings released over the past 12 months as voted for by our specialist critics. On August 27 we will reveal the 11 recordings, which have been voted the best in category. Three weeks later – on September 17 – one of those 11 will be named our Recording of the Year at an event in London that will also reveal our Artist of the Year, Young Artist of the Year, Label of the Year and the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Choosing just a single disc in each of the 11 categories is always difficult so to allow you to survey the field and come up with your own favourites, we’ve gathered together the reviews of the six discs in each category in a special free digital magazine.

Meanwhile, there is still time to vote for Gramophone Artist of the Year – the only Gramophone Award voted for by members of the public – before the closing date on August 15, 2013. Make sure you vote for your favourite of the 10 outstanding nominees.
