The July 2013 issue of Gramophone is now on sale in which we celebrate the Proms - 'the world's greatest music festival', according to Daniel Barenboim, who speaks to Geoffrey Norris about conducting Wagner's Ring at this year's Proms. Our Proms 2013 coverage also includes features on the evolution of the Proms, Michael Tippett's music at the festival, and full concert listings and broadcast details.

Also this issue: Philip Clark discusses the music of Christopher Fox for Contemporary Composers; Andrew Mellor attends an epic Strauss recording by the Choirs of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and King's College London for our Session Report; Tasmin Little writes about recording Britten in the Musician's Diary; Franz Welser-Möst unravels Bruckner's Fourth Symphony in the Musician and the Score; and Caroline Gill surveys Sir Peter Maxwell Davies's new anthology for the Golden Jubilee.

Plus, the month's new classical music releases are reviewed by our expert critics - including our Recording of the Month, Dvořák's Stabat mater performed by Collegium Vocale, Ghent and the Royal Flemish Philharmonic conducted by Philippe Herreweghe, released on PHI. Hear an excerpt below:
