Listen to Isabelle Faust playing Berg on the Gramophone Player
This month the Gramophone Player opens with an excerpt from the Berg Violin Concerto played by Isabelle Faust and the Orchestra Mozart, conducted by Claudio Abbado, on Harmonia Mundi – paired with Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. ‘Faust brings a suggestion of gaiety that renders more poignant the effect of the dark, complex harmony – a bright memory rendered sad and bitter’.
