The 2012 Gramophone Awards were announced on September 27 at a sparkling ceremony held at London’s Dorchester Hotel, co-hosted by editor-in-chief James Jolly, composer Eric Whitacre and soprano Danielle De Niese. We announced the winners on the day - including Recording of the Year for Vox Luminis in Schütz’s Musicalische Exequien, Artist of the Year for Joseph Calleja and a new Piano Award for Murray Perahia.
