Works by Britten and Bartók performed at the prestigious ceremony held in London on September 17
The 2013 Gramophone Classical Music Awards, this year presented in association with Steinway & Sons and EFG International, were announced at a ceremony on September 17 at London’s LSO St Luke’s - during which we presented our Recording of the Year to Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Artist of the Year to Alison Balsom, Lifetime Achievement to Julian Bream, Young Artist of the Year to Jan Lisiecki, Label of the Year to Decca Classics and Special Achievement to Alain Lanceron.
The evening also featured performances from Benjamin Grosvenor, Jan Lisiecki, Steven Osborne, Ian Bostridge and Xuefei Yang, Barnabás Kelemen and Katalin Kokas, and Alison Balsom and Arngeir Hauksson.
