Welcome to the Gramophone Player.

This is where you will be able to listen to recordings related to articles in the magazine – including excerpts from the monthly Editor’s Choice disc – as well as other features including a complete archive recording, videos, and our Gramophone podcasts. It streams at 256kbps – which is better than most internet radio stations.

The Gramophone Player is very easy to use. You don’t need to download any software to your computer as with some online players. Simply click the Gramophone Player button on the far right hand side of this page (the player button will also be found throughout gramophone.co.uk site – just look out for the logo).

You do need to be registered and logged in to the site to listen to the player – you can log in here. If you are not registered, it is free to do so – just click this link to register. And once registered, you can not only listen to the Player, but also enter competitions, post comments under blogs, or join in the discussion in the Gramophone Forum.

Using the Gramophone Player

Click the image above to open a visual guide to the Gramophone Player

Along the top of the player you will find the Playlists – this is where you will find the recordings related to the most recent issue of the magazine, as well as special features such as the Gramophone Awards, Archive recordings, or Podcasts.

When you click a Playlist, all the tracks it includes appear down the right hand side. The first track is ready for you to play, by clicking the main screen. You can scroll through the other tracks using the dragger on the right hand side. To hear a new track, click the small thumbnail image. The track will begin playing, and appear in the main screen. Beneath the title of the track that is playing, there is a link which either takes you to where you can buy the recording, or to a Gramophone review which will also contain a 'buy now' link.

And that’s all there is to it. We hope you enjoy the player, and would be delighted to hear what you think about it, and to help with any queries you may have. Send us an email at gramophone.player@haymarket.com.
