Introducing Gramophone's February 2017 issue

Gramophone
Friday, January 27, 2017

In the February issue of Gramophone, on sale from January 27, Hugo Shirley celebrates the art of Christian Gerhaher, the German baritone with a voice to make critics weep, as he prepares to release his latest Lieder recording. Also in this issue, Andrew Mellor champions the work of Swedish composer Anders Hillborg, whose latest commission is for star soprano Renée Fleming, and Philip Clark explores the power of electronic music and its ability to shock, physically and emotionally.

Elsewhere, there are other fascinating features on John Ogdon, Peter Eötvös and Ludovic Morlot, plus a probing survey of recordings of Bach’s flute sonatas. And of course there’s our excellent reviews section which, as always, includes all the latest classical music releases. We hope you enjoy it!
