RE: 64 character problem

I've now been trying to respond to one comment for a couple of weeks but every time I hit Save it's rejected because of the 64 character problem.

Am I the only one still getting this: it's back yet again, can this problem not be solved once and for good?!!!!!!

It appears not: we're hitting the same problem on another site we have, built on the same platform.

Back again and now worse: it actually rejects post well under that limit.

It's still here. And perhaps the most annoying aspect is trying to respond to a topic that was, presumably, under the limit. I guess adding the "Re:" is enough to put you over the top. Feel like I'm in no-man's land between a Kafka novel and a Monty Python sketch.

So far, when this has happened to me, I just clear the Subject box completely and retype the subject heading and it always works - annoying but at least I can post

RE: 64 character problem

I keep getting this problem and I see many posts on the same thread which are way over 100 words.

RE: 64 character problem

This problem has come and gone over the past 20 months, uisually affecting the most carefully composed posts.  The  source has been identified, but is there no cure?  I don't know of any other forum that has the same shortcoming, and it is irritating several others apart from myself.

RE: 64 character problem

The last two times this has recently come up I deleted the 64 character wording in the subject box, leaving it blank, resent and the message has gone through. When it comes up on the forum the subject title is replaced by the first words of the post.
