Well done to Gramophone for reviewing this amp; based on an old design, it's good to see a mainstream magazine extolling the qualities of tube amps (more to come please). I do have one concern though; at £4500 this is expensive for an integrated tube amp, and lthough the quality appears to be excellent,  I am convinced for that money there are better tube amps out there, even if you're into single ended 2A3 or 45 amps hand-made in the US or Japan. Blimey, even some very decent Audio Note UK amps are competitively priced. ATB MyronC

Audio Note products are good! Some 10 on more years ago I built their single ended 300B valve power amplifier and their valve phono stage/preamp and have had no cause to regret it. Wonderful open sound with no harshness yet every detail resolved: sensitive 'speakers are of course required for a 9 watt power amp (and please don't attempt to build anything operating at 450 volts dc unless you know what you're at!).
