Imogen Cooper
I have never been moved to post a comment about a live broadcast before but I thought Imogen Cooper's Wigmore Hall recital of Debussy, Beethoven & Chopin, broadcast live as yesterday's lunchtime Radio 3 concert, absolutely outstanding: the finest piano recital I have heard in a very long time.

Great to hear! I haven't listened to the Radio 3 concert yet but I am going to scour the net tonight to see what I can find! I am a big Cooper fan as well, I think she is very much an underrated musician at the moment.
A close friend of mine spent a weekend in Paris especially to see her perform.
The link above has her concerts for the beginning of 2012. Does anyone know where I could find a list for the whole of the year?

In the last month I have heard 3 live, all Schubert recitals. A mixed one from Uchida, which included an awful D958; a very good one from Paul Lewis; and an almost sublime one from Cooper which kicked off the BBC Schubert fest. In my mind the event that makes her playing so special is the quality and beauty of her tone. This is evident on the three double CDs recorded live from her Schubert cycle in 2007-8.

She was one of the highlights of Radio 3's Schubert week. I would recommend too her Wigmore Hall recital recording CD of Beethoven, Mozart & Ravel. It's a mystery to me why she has never been taken up by one of the major labels.

I've been after her three volume live Schubert set for ages...........I think it went on my Xmas list last year, but never got it. The bits I've heard sound incredible.
Would be nice to see a pianist of her quality given more exposure. Perhaps the Gramophone could do something on her, instead of yet another story that features the indisputably second rate, what-the-hell-is-he-doing-in-the-Hall-of-Fame Lang Lang. (There seems to be something every week about him. Does he sponsor this site?)

I believe (Im not sure)that she recorded the Mozarts concertos for two and three pianos with Alfred Brendel and the Academy of St Martin conducted by Neville Marriner, in his integral with that orchestra and conductor. Regards oscar.olavarria

She's a wonderful artist and doesn't get nearly enough offers to record.
