Live Mahler 8 concerts?
Does anyone know of any upcoming concerts of Mahler 8 that are not already sold out? Living in Ireland, Ireland or the UK would be preferable but happy to consider all possibilities.
I am aware of the Philharmonia/Maazel later on this year, but this is sold-out already. I also assume the BPO/Rattle 8 will be on next season, but I can't find anywhere that is selling tickets yet.

There are a few more coming up over the next few months in Europe. The Liverpool Philarmonic Choir is touring to Porto and the magnificent Casa da Musica to perform the work sometime in October. Ticket prices are *really* affordable at EUR20 and the architecture is great.
In a few weeks the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and Jonathan Nott will be at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. I'll be there and there are still some tickets available.
The Berliner Philharmoniker have three performances in September. They went on sale today and sold out pretty much instantly. I managed to get a ticket but it may be worth keeping an eye on seatwave or checking the website for returns.
The Bayerische Rundfunk will be performing it in Munich in October with a stunning line-up including Violeta Urmana and Christine Brewer. Finally, there are some performances in Italy in Turin, Rimini and Rome conducted by Noseda and Pappano.
It's always worth keeping an eye on Universal Edition's homepage as they give a list of most upcoming performances.

Young conductor Dudamel is doing it here at Los Angeles early 2112. But might be too far away from Ireland. If I had the chance, I would go to the Berlin Philharmonic next fall. It doesnt get much better than that on planet earth

The RLPO concert referred to by helena888 (held in October) demonstrated one of the problems that result if you do not have a large enough concert hall. Staged in the Anglican Cathedral, Part 1 was merely a wash of sound: Part II, with its quieter passages was better, and the soloists had been moved forward so one had a better chance to hear their contributions...
