Dear all,
A shameless plug, but for a very good cause. In aid of cancer hospices, I’m hosting a little but rather special charity concert at St Joseph’s College in Reading this Sunday (16th December 2012) at 7pm. The terrific, JUNO-Award winning violinist Alexandre Da Costa (records for Warner) with whom I work is kindly flying in from Spain to play, and also kindly giving his time is the wonderful English pianist Danny Driver. This will be the first time they have played together – the repertoire is a nice mix, from Handel and Brahms to Bruch (Kol nidrei) to and John Williams (Schindler’s List). Tickets are only £12 (four for the price of three though!) and can be booked by phoning  0118 939 4889, or online at  http://recitalsforhospices.eventbrite.co.uk . I will also be interviewing the musicians from the stage at one point. So if you’re in the area do come along to support a wonderful cause and enjoy some world-class music-making!
Plug over.
All the best,
James

Similarly, I hope it goes well, but too far from Phlogiston Towers for me.

It was wonderful, thanks Petra - nice of you all to take such an interest. Danny Driver and a violinist I work with, Alexandre Da Costa, were both tremendous, and we were more or less sold out at around 180 seats (and ever the Mayor of Reading came!). Anyone who wants to catch Alex in London can see his new show about the fused history of Spanish music and poetry at St John's, Smith Square in June (he's well worth the catching, as it were)! Glad to see all my old friends on this forum again after a little while... I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2013!

All the best,
James
