A harpsichord legend died.
Last week,
March 1st 2013, died in Paris Rafael Puyana, called by many the best
harpsichord player of his era. He was a legend in the harpsichord world as a
player and as a collector. I still don’t understand why Gramophone has said
nothing about his death. Is it waiting
for its next publication?

A rather low profile but truly great soloist and musician. I have some old very fine recordings on HM, with Sonatas on Scarlatti and Soler and some more on French composers.
How many more losses are we going to experience. (Of course, the huge loss on Harpsichord, Baroque, Early Music and of Classical Music too was last year's departure of the irreplaceable Gustav Leonhardt).

Today's Guardian (and Guardian online) has an extensive obituary of Puyana.

Indeed a fine player, Oscar!
I have seen no obituaries in the UK nation al newspapers. There is a short one in The Classical Source (http://www.classicalsource.com/). Otherwise silence.
So many deaths of great musicians recently.
