Dear forumers. I would like to invite you to watch and discuss several videos.

Important! Here's no even a hint on rock/pop/jazz versions etc., with no overdrive, chorus and any other effects. This is an academic music in its pure form. El. guitar just trying on the role of academic instrument.

RE: "Academic electric guitar"

Great effort and commendable from your side, Pavel, but the instrument is not for that purpose. It's like a stranger (and an "ugly" one) in a foreign land.

Tchaikovsky sounded like a travesty compared to the original, while Boccherini was almost a disaster as an overall listening experience. The key issue in classical music is the beauty of the tone from a natural instrument, where the soloist may strive for years to achieve the best possible natural sound (tone/timbre). With electric instruments, the natural tone has gone from the outset. Of course, you may try to get the best possible from your instrument, but it does not fit in. How would you feel if Ray Charles had to sing La donna e mobile?

Having said that, I commend you for your effort to show to other (electric) guitarists how they can make beautiful music, not necessarily playing Classical Works but composing new ones, original and very musical.

All the best, dear Pavel.

Hi Pavel. I just had a listen to the Tchaikovsky piece. Superb playing. Nice balance with the piano too. Cello pieces work well on the guitar thanks to the similar range.

I once gave a similar recital for part of my GSCE so your video brought back memories. :)
