Is
Gramophone going to review Bogota’s fisrt International Music Festival,as it did with Cartagena's Fest? Is
anybody interested in the fest? It is going to be dedicated exclusively to
Beethoven.  http://bogotaesmusica.com/

Orchestras
(symphonic and chamber), soloists, quartets, etc. from the whole world, mainly
Europe, are going to play Beethoven’s master works.

Due to our
socialist and stupid mayor the page is only in Spanish. I hope for the years to
come it will be in English too.

Socialist stupidity is best kept in Spanish.

There are undoubtedly capitalists who are stupid. However, all socialists are stupid.

A matter of opinion, granted. And just to stay in the realm of classical music, that means you consider Bartók and Prokofiev stupid as well.

And Shostakovich, Copland and Gustav Holst for that matter. And Berio, Xenakis and Boulez.

The main
topic of this post isn’t politics. Russian musicians, no matter their political
views, were great artists. Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky, Shostakovich…

Please talk
about the main topic.

Even though
I disagree with you about Shostakovich and Holst, I can’t hear bartok and
berlio. There should be another forum “people who killed music”:

stokhausen,
gubadulina, mahler (bjork of its time), lutoswaki, cage, berg …

Do not look
at my misspelling, I do not care who to write those names, and they must be written
without capitals.

The main topic is whether anyone was going to a Beethoven Festival in Spain, not whether Russain musicians were great artists or not. So their greatness or otherwise is no less off topic than their politics.

You should dust-off
your geography books. Bogota isn’t Spain. It is South American Athens.

Apologies. Bogata is of course in South America.

But the main point of my post still holds.

A problem may be that the originator of the thread seems to have been 'excommunicated'!

Terminated - This forum should employ Arny Schwarzenegger, the death toll would be less.

Isaiah Berlin said that Prokofiev was the most stupid of the great composers. However I apologise for using the word 'stupid'. I simply meant 'wrong'.
Sorry for the delay in replying, by the way; I have no difficulty in reading this site but contributing to it is sometimes problematic. At least when I try to, which tends to be fairly late at night.
