I'm a student at Luther College, a small liberal arts university in Iowa, USA (near Minneapolis, Minnesota).

Luther, along with her sister schools (St. Olaf College, Concordia College-Moorhead) are leaders in the collegiate choral genre in the United States.  Founded in the Norwegian Lutheran traditions in the mid-ninteenth century, these schools each have internationally-acclaimed choral programs.  F. Melius Christiansen, the famous composer that introduced the a capella style to these schools in the 1920s, was the first conductor of the St. Olaf Choir.  Composer Rene Clausen, leads the Concordia Choir.  Weston Noble, a pioneer in conducting, led Luther's Nordic Choir from 1948-2005.  This collegiate choral tradition in the upper-Midwest region of the States is like no other in the world.

Students from these choral programs go on to join the hundreds of communty and professional choruses in this region, most notably the former Dale Warland Singers, Vocalessence led by Phillip Brunelle, and the Minnesota Choral Artists (to name a few).

Here are the links to these schools' music departments, and a YouTube link of the Nordic Choir performing Christiasen's arrangement of "O Day Full of Grace."
