Duncan Druce's Investigation Falls Short

I was surprised and dismayed by the absence of Sergey Khachatryan's 2010 recording of Bach's Six Sonatas and Partitas from Mr. Druce's list of 45 or so recordings of the works (some of them re-recordings by the same interpreters) since the inception of recording technology. Khachatryan's interpretation, though more romantically inclined than Kremer's more "objective, cool approach," is as sparkling, equally valid and technically astute as any of the others on the list.
