Free CDs
Having recently moved to a smaller property, I find that space for CDs is at a premium. As a consequence my collection of Editor's Choice CDs from Gramophone, which I have kept for many years, is now no longer sustainable in my small bungalow. So reluctantly I can offer this collection to any Gramophone enthusiast free of charge.
The run is not quite complete, however. It starts with December 1996 and runs to October 2010 [the first such CD to the last issued, I believe] but there are 5 missing - November 2007 to February 2008 inclusive; and January 2009. These must have gone astray in one of my many house moves. One CD is also duplicated, though I cannot remember which one! Several have never been played. As a survey of the taste of various Gramophone contributors in the late 20th/early 21st Century, this is probably an unrivalled collection. It does not include the Awards disc issued each year, however.
"Buyer" responsible for collection, I'm afraid, as I cannot deal with postage of these items. They are quite heavy, so collection only. I live in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Over to you!

Good idea, Mike, and one that I hadn't thought of. If there are no responses to my offer, I shall explore it further.
Thanks for the suggestion.

If you live in a London borough controlled by a labour council they (the school children) won't listen to the CDs, they will be too busy banging on tin cans making urban ethnic free form music to express the oppression they have been told they feel, they may however use the CDs to form the centre piece in a community art project expressing their love for their socialist council in trying to free them from the agression imposed by the oppressor. Or you could just throw them away.

There is no such place as 'The East Riding of Yorkshire', he's made it up and he knows it, it's Humberside. However Bazza I realise that after yesterdays pasting by the European Champions and by far the greatest team the world has ever seen you may be feeling a bit delicate this morning. No singing 'round the old joanna for you last night, just straight up the old apple and pears to beddy byes. Franky Lampard heaven.

Made it up! It is Humberside which is made up, a European abomination. The East Riding of Yorkshire was, still is and ever will be, to a true Yorkshireman!

East Riding certainly exists on the sides of buses. I'm not sure the CDs would be much use in schools - they don't do much listening these days. Active learning is all the rage.

It's Humberside, the 'Olde Easty Riding of hey nonny nonny Yorkshire' only exists to hairy cavemen who live in their garden sheds. Grimsby is the capital.

Spadger.----- 9:21 am. Good morning from the distant island of Maui, Hawaii.
I was curious as to what you did with the cds you had no room for. I hope that you did not fling them away. Had I been in the UK I would have accepted them immediately.
Ironically, earlier this week I located about 40 of the cds that came with the BBC Music Magazine, housed in a binder at a thrift shop here. They are unlikely to have been sold, for interest in classical recordings on this island is very limited.
I find it a pity, that most of the contents of this thread have absolutely nothing to do with the cds you want to dispose of. Irvine Shamrock.

Very generous spadger! Have you considerd donating the CDs to a local school/college that has a music department? I am sure they would welcome such a quality selection.
