RE: Gould Interview

You are right c hris.Gould makes me realise how great other pianists are. But how less of a story they are for the press and gossipy authors. A bit like Bobby Fischer, some talent,  a lot of strange behaviour which the press love to sell to us as being genius and the soul of art.

Not sure about parla, Bazza. I did think that at one point, but not anymore. All the major incarnations of Schiller Kant speak in the same voice, use the same grammar (often with wierd commas), have the same "sense of humour" and make the same poisonous remarks. You can spot them a mile off. But "parla" is different in all kinds of ways.

In any case, I think it would probably take a genius to invent "parla".

Don't be fooled. How many trolls/flamers does a minority site like this attract?

As for "genius", I have a better word: psychosis.

Yes you keep an open mind, in one second - out the next. Vic was one of my more insane creations, a parody on outdated hippy left wing values, but I put him to sleep. AND then I created Parla, ha ha ha, soon the world will be mine, no I expect you to die mister Bond. You know what I want, in unused notes, leave it in the usual place or I will fire the moon lasers ha ha ha HA HA HA. I will also make sure West Ham avoid relegation and have to suffer another season of defeat after defeat, I will do it, I am that mad.

So, Jane, you did it once more. An initially innocuous thread on a Glenn Gould interview turns to your usual object of obsession, of course, with a little help of a friend and a foe. Well done!

As for Gould's interview...well, who cares anymore?

Callas on Szell. For me Furtwangler was Beethoven, today even an average kappelmeister such as Szell is seen as a genius.

I don`t know how I missed Callas`take on Szell during my daily perusal of Maria "The Sreaming Banshee"Callas`classic tome,''Guide To Conductors and Kappelmeisters of The World".I always consult this classic before I purchase ANY recordings.
