Greetings to all music lovers and subscribers of Gramophone.

Regarding my subscription to GRAMOPHONE, I would like to
express my dissapointment. I paid a subscription with
CD, but the CD is no longer included with the magazine.

Wouldn't be wise if Gramophone makes available to DOWNLOAD                   the tracks of the Grampophone Player to subscribers of the magazine??

I know that Gramophone is offering the "Gramophone Player"
instead, but  this is not an option for me at all.

I cannot transport the music everywhere as I used to do with the
CD, because this music IS NOT DOWNLOADABLE AT ALL.

I cannot hear this music in my car, I cannot use it with my music students Music History class, as I used to. I neither cannot transfer this music to my Ipod, because it is not downloadable at all.

As I paid for a subscription with a CD, I would like to ask
Gramophone for a refund, because I understand the CD
subscription
costs more than the one without the CD.

It would be fair enough to ask you that if you are not going to
include the CD I paid you for, please refund me the cost of the

CDs you haven't sended me since the renewal of my subscritpion                      and the others you will not send me.

I wish to tell you that one of the main reasons I subscribe to
the Gramphone for more than 15 years is the possibility to
hear to the latest classical CD productions in the world with
the convinence  to hear them where ever I wish to. Not only
through my computer.

With all my respects and best wishes.

Tierra de Chelo.

RE: Gramophone Player vs CD

The serious FACT is that every subscriber to the Gramophone that
bought a subscription with a CD included is being RIPPED OFF. Gramophone
should have a straight answer for this change of policy, after charging
for subscriptios with the CD included in the cost of those
subscriptions.

Otherwise, the music tracks in the so called "Gramophone Player" at
least should be downloadable for subscribers to the Gramophone with the
CD. Don't you think?

Seems my last post didn't show. All I said is that I for one have seen enough of this subject. The covermount CD has gone so deal with it. It was worthwhile to listen to extracts of new releases and I enjoyed the Great Composers series but the CD itself was hardly one to be retained ad infinitum. It was meant to inform and give a taster of new releases. That's all. The Gramophone Player continues to fulfil this function.

Dear Caballe:

The player does not "fulfill this function" as the tracks are not downloadable. I kind of disagree with you, because the fact is that many subscribers have paid for a subscription with a CD, and I have not hear, neither received from the magazine a notification that the CD I paid for is not going to be sended with my paid subscription. I am sorry. Another fact is that the tracks of the Gramophone Player are NOT in any way downloadable. So, you can ONLY hear them through your computer. You cannot hear the tracks in your car, or in your Ipod. You cannot use them with an educational purpose as I did with my History of Music students for the past 15 years. I think that it would be fair for the subscribers that did paid for a CD, that at least we could be able to download the tracks from the Player. Don't you think? Finally, for me it's rather difficult to "deal" with the fact that I paid for something that is not being delivered to me. I am sorry to disagree with you, but the magazine is ripping off it's subscribers. In my case an almost two decade subscriber.

Good morning,

Thank you for your post. While your feedback is gratefully received, every point here has been addressed, and debated, at considerable length in another thread - http://www.gramophone.co.uk/forum/general-discussion/covermount-cd-disco... . If there are points which you feel haven't been addressed or answered there, then I will happily respond to them. To avoid repetition, I will also transfer any subsequent post to this thread into that one.

Martin
