Does anyone have any suggestions as to where they think is the best place to buy pocket/study scores on the web. I´m looking for something comprehensive especially in 20th century music and that´s not outrageously expensive, thanks in advance.

The only thing inexpensive that I can think of readily for study scores is Boosey and Hawkes. They have a website. In America, there is another website for 19th century scores. I will post it when I remember the name.

http://www.boosey.com/shop/series/Hawkes-Pocket-Scores/192

As you will see from the prices, they aren't exactly giving them away either.

Finally, the name Dover Publications popped into my my mind. Here are the links:

Miniature scores

Full scores

Chamber music

As you will see, the selection is somewhat limited, but the prices are very affordable.

Best.

Lastly, music schools and/or conservatories may allow the general public to borrow scores. In the U.S., most state univerisities allow the general public to be issued a library card in exchange for payment of an nominal annual fee. Even if borrowing is not allowed, such institutions may allow you to consult the scores in their reading rooms. Again, hope that helps.
