Before subscribing to the digital edition, with the Exactly app on my more humble Samsung Nexus and viewed numerous samples. However, I cannot pass the logon to access my subscription using the same details as to access this site apparently the details are invalid. There are detailed instructions for IPhone, I AM unable to find any for Android devices. So how do you login on the Android 'phone ap???

Hi allanscriven,

You can access the service on your Android device - once you have subscribed or upgraded to the digital edition - by entering  your Shared Access Code into the Exactly app. Find out how to get hold of your Shared access code here.

If you do run into any problems please get in touch with our customer service team by emailing support@exacteditions.com

Many thanks,

Luca Da Re

Regarding missing issues - unfortunately we had to take a few temporarily off the archive because of technical issues, but we're working hard to get them all back up online as soon as we can.

Best,

James

Thanks, James. If you found this by searching (the Simpson 1 & 8), I'd be interested to know exactly what terms you entered!

RE: New Gramophone Digital Edition & Archive

hi pgraber,

I initially typed in: simpson first symphony handley - and the second result in the list led me to the review.

Then I also tried: simpson first symphony hyperion - and the first result in the list provided me with the review date (2/97).

I find that the more key words you include in the search the closer you will get to your target. In this case, the inclusion of the conductor's name or the name of the record label narrowed the search considerably. No one method will work in every instance but you'll find that you develop your own repertoire of search techniques as you go along.

I hope you're enjoying the archive, I'd love to hear of any gems that you've uncovered in your wanderings.

Best wishes,

James

I bought the digital edition/archive on my ipad, but how do I view the same on my Macbook?  I never got any username/password emails.  I just input my email address to the Exact Editions lost password site and it says email not known...

RE: suggestion on locking the archives

Agreed. It turns me off to find that, having thrown out my old copies as the archive was available, I now am expected to pay for the same service.

I don't want the digital edition - other members of my household read it and we prefer to read it when relaxing in an armchair (or even in bed) rather than in front of our computer screens - that's too much like work!

And we don't have iPads, Kindles etc. Luddites? No - just not interested in technology for the sake of it.

You seem determined to make this point in as many places as possible!
