I ordered a subscription this month and was disappointed to see that the May issue is in store but not at my home. I thought that subscribers should be the first to receive the issue.

The subscription process was flawed itself. I did the 3 month subscription for £11ish and when I had completed the order and clicked again, I saw that the price had dropped to £1. Hence I felt regret I had paid £10 more.

Gramophone is a great magazine but the customer service is a disgrace.

I'm sure they can defend themselves; but in my experience of subscribing to magazines it normally takes 4 to 6 weeks to get them going. So if you only ordered it this month, it's no surprise at all you haven't got the current issue. And the fact that they have simultaneous but different offers going is hardly a 'customer service disgrace'. In fact, it's a marketing issue and not that uncommon.

Dear dirknbr,

I am sorry to see that you have been disappointed not to have received a copy of the May issue. Depending on the timing of a new subscription order it can take up to 6 weeks for the first issue of Gramophone to arrive with a new reader as we have to print a specific number of subscriber magazines each month. If an order is placed just after this cut off there can be a wait of over a month. I apologise that this was not more clearly communicated and I will raise this with our customer service team so that we can improve the online ordering experience.

I would be very hapy to discuss your subscription in more detail over email. Please feel free to contact me at Luca.DaRe@haymarket.com

Kind Regards,

Luca Da Re
