Recently I have very much enjoyed (after an abscence of many years) Gerald Finzi's 'Requiem da Camera' this prompted me to dig out Howells' 'Requiem' which I'd forgotten how much I love this also.

I'd be interested to hear recommendations for similar works in this vain. I'm very familiar with Faure and Durufle Requiems though.

Also I am very sceptical about the 'specialist classical charts' they seem to be full of flashy pianists and flash-in-the-pan guitarists and tenors - through no fault of their own I'm sure - but heard on R3 the other morning 'Ubi Caritas' by Paul Mealor. Apparently this was sung at 'The Wedding' and is a gorgeous paired-down peice for choir. I have since listened to his 'A Tender Light' album with Tenebrae which i enjoy equally. Very much in the same mould as Eric Whitacre's album of this time last year. Thoughts?
