I have a lot of admiration for Abbado's Brahms
cycle and for John Eliot Gardiner's Schumann cycle with his
period-piece orchestra, Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, which
includes the Konzertstück for 4 horns & orchestra, Overture,
Scherzo, & Finale for orchestra, and both versions of the Fourth
Symphony.
