This week in Berlin I bought a 10-CD set by Membran Music of recordings by Otto Klemperer for 10 Euros. It contains performances, mainly live, from 1954 to 1960 in which this great conductor is in absolutely magnificent, and often fiery form. An extraordinary publication which will be my Christmas present to many friends and family.

Beethoven 1-9, plus Piano concert 4.

Brahms 1, 3, plus 2nd Piano concerto

Bruckner 4, 7, 8

As an admirer of Klemperer I am very interested in this. It is due for release in the UK next month and I have it on order with Amazon. How is the sound in these recordings?
