This morning, my local (very small!) supermarket had this offer:

Ok, I needed some placemats for coffee and tea and I think I found them :)

Before spilling them, has anyone seen something of these DVD's before?

I already know the Koscis DVD (ok.) and Haydn's Lo Speziale (fun!), but never encountered the rest:

DVD 1: Placido Domingo - Placido Grandissimo! Orchestra - Conductor: National Symphonic Orchestra of Spain (Kohn & Alejandro)

I have DVD 14, with The Hilliard Ensemble & The Consort of Musicke, and it is of poor quality, both picture and sound, not a real DVD at all, for fanatics only!

... and it's tea time for DVD 8.

Chopin 1st piano concerto. Not so much the fault of (the long haired!) Tzimon Barto. It's the worst orchestral intro (1, 2, 3, 4) I've ever heard by one Roderick Brydon that makes it a perfect companion of a nice cup of Star-mix tea (you wished Roderick...) Homero Francesch and (especially!) Sergio Baudo fare better. A good old grand Beethoven 5th piano concerto that keeps my attention. Image quality is very '80s, but that does not mind me very much.

Quick reply: I have a few DVDs from that set. Quality is not brilliant, but at that cheap price I think you'll be satisfied. Some nice weekend afternoon viewing.

Ha!  Great picture.  I've always been on the lookout for a kit with which you could turn a CD into a clock.

Rod Brydon did a good impression of Ken Bruce that fooled everyone on April 1st.

He as talent.
