Hyperion's Romantic Piano Concerto Series
So you do know what you are talking about contrary to what was asserted in prior posts and various other threads. That's reassuring.

To your surprise, Troyen, I own the whole series of Romantic Piano, Violin and Cello Concertos (you see I am a completist and an avid colector). In the same way, at least I have listened extensively to the ones I mentioned in my post. I just gave up listening to the new ones, since I found the series less interesting regarding their general approach to the production values.
However, I can accept the fact that others might like, praise and be thoroughly satisfied. Different hi-fi systems, listening rooms, perceptions, approaches in listening to the music may result in different sort of appreciation and value of a specific product.
No need to argue, necessarily, Troyen. You may just allow my observation to be registered as yours and others.

I do not believe you.
You, who, also, asserted that he had multi-sets of Italian opera and, yet, had never heard of Glyndenbourne, a company that has appeared on disc since the thirties, and you had not one of these discs in your collection.
I do not believe you because if it is true you would not have made the assertion that you did or are you a possessor of the clothest ears in Christendom?

It's up to anyone to believe anybody here. However, I do have a great fraction of the Hyperion catalogue, not only these series. My collection is vast enough (I don't dare to mention the figure).
As for the Opera matter, I didn't say I'm not aware of Glyndenbourne. I just said, since I don't live in UK, I cannot and I'm not interested in what kind of productions it promotes, as you don't know and, possibly, you're not interested in what kind of productions stage every period the Opera de Bastille. However, I do have quite a few recordings from Glyndenbourne, including the ones recently released directly by the Opera House itself (latest purchases: Midsummer Night's Dream by Britten, Bellini's Puritani, Dvorak's Rusalka...). Satisfied? Of course not, because you don't believe me. Anyway, whatever...

Parla and Troyen1,
Grow up! You cannot believe how boring and exasperating the ill-will between you is getting. Seriously!

I can believe you. I feel the same boredom and exasperation (by responding). I hope he may believe you too...some day soon.

troyen1: Note your spelling in your first post of March 29th. Are you trying to confuse us? Getting back to Bruckner's 4th (from another thread) I have heard Celibidache conduct the work at a concert I attended. Very moving, indeed, but I prefer Karl Bohm's recordings - his 78s with the Saxon State Orchestra ( which I have owned since the 1940s) and the later one with the VPO. For those of you interested in hearing and watching a superb 70 minute performance of the 4th you have until April 11th to do so on classiclive.com. The Lahti Symphony is conducted by Okko Kamu.

You spotted it but you are the only one and it wasn't addressed to you, of course.
I was referring to the famous Celibidache recording but, like you, at the end of the day, I think, I prefer Bohm in Vienna although I like Klemperer because I believe Klemperer brought distinction to everything he did for the gramophone and his 4th is certainly no exception to that.

I hope you don't mind if I read some of your posts. I thought that was what this forum was all about.
Anyhow, I think you'll enjoy Okko Kamu's reading. You can listen to it while working on the computer or just sit back and watch that amazing orchestra. Would be interested in your opinion (REALLY) and that of anyone else. Maybe I should have made this a new topic. Doesn't quite fit Hyperion's Romantic Piano Concerto Series.
