Tom Service sings the praises of Leif Segerstam's Symphonies here (250 of 'em apparently)....

He's almost sold me... I am posied over the buy button on Amazon... any other perspective before I commit? I'm hoping they'll be something like Hermann Nitsch's...

The problem is knowing which ones to get - where do you start? The most recent issue from Ondine had two symphonies written for the Bergen Philharmonic some years apart using an orchestra that doubles in size (ie, the former symphony is scored for half the players). Interesting to see (hear) how he handles that change.
