I am looking for a CD - Sergei Rachmaninov: Prelude in C sharp minor, Op. 3/2 for Piano and Orchestra. Recommendations please!

RE: Looking for Rachmaninov

This may be tricky. Op 3 no 2 is "the" famous prelude in C# minor which was written for a solo piano. Henry Wood orchestrated it - I know of no version for piano and orchestra.

Wood's orchestration is available here. I've no idea whether it's any good or not.

You can hear recordings of Rachmaninov himself playing here as well as some other non-commercial recordings.

Best wishes,

Looking for Rachmaninov

As you say It seems there is only Piano "or" orchestra and not both. Didn't go much on the wood's recording so Il stick with the written for a solo piano version.

Many Thanks.
