New Tom Waits

Tom Waits had his high points but an awful lot of low points. After 'Closing Time' he thought it was fun to pretend to be an alcoholic for the sake of his 'art'. He's generally speaking a 'one song per album man'. Heartattack and vine, Downtown Train, etc but you struggle to find the one song on some albums. However Swordfishtrombones is a different case. almost seemless inspiration from a man we all, including his record company, thought had said all he had to say. BUT it is just POP music and of little interest to anyone who has an interest in important music, but good to drive to sometimes I suppose, and we can all sing along to Tom without thinking we need the talent to actually be able to sing.
