Good to know that a multi-CD set of recordings by Sir Colin Davies is now available as part of the EMI ICON series. Wonder if he is any relation to Sir Colin Davis? Never known for their accuracy, EMI once again needs a proofreader. I don't know how the name appears on the CD cover because it cannot be found on their web site but it is being advertised with the four other new ICON issues (Schuricht, Callas, Ogdon and Jochum) in magazines. I think those names are spelled correctly.

By the way, has anyone tried to navigate the EMI web site? Maybe it's my problem but I found it very difficult to get anywhere.

There seems to be a severe shortage of proof readers these days. One of my favourites is the EMI recording of Brahms Symphony No.4 with Barbirolli and the Vienna Philharmonic.  It says that it was recorded in Abbey Road Studios in 1990.  Interesting.

A recent Warner adverisement announced an album of recordings of Sviatoslav Richter playing music by Schuman. William Schuman presumably.

The spell checker said it was OK, so it must have been!

Surprised it didn't say John Ogden, a common error.

I've even seen Bartok misspelled as Bantock.
