I am assisting a friend with an estate sale. They collected The Great Musicians in Australia in 1969-70. There were to be 84 weekly albums produced, but they were unable to get the last album, Wagner The Flying Dutchman, as the Australian distributer went bankrupt. The 83 they did collect are in good condition, kept in the collection cases and a small number were never opened. The records all appear flat.

I need to know the value of this collection and whether anyone is interested in purchasing it. I am located near Toronto Canada. As the collection is very heavy I suspect shipping could be quite expensive.

I would be greatful for any help.

RE: The Great Musicians Collection

I don't know if you've seen the exchanges on this series, in the 'forgotten CDs" thread below, page 2. From a recording and performance standpoint, most of the series wasn't highly rated. But you never know, somebody out there might be interested, perhaps for nostalgia value. More likely, somebody looking to complete their own collection might want to make you an offer on particular editions. I haven't a clue what they would be worth, all depends on the buyer and his/her reasons for buying I guess. Good luck.

Thanks for your information it is very helpful. I did see one posting on the web, but the owner was also looking for a valuation on the set. I'll keep searching for other postings as well. Thanks again.
