Thielemann's Beethoven cycle

Being an audiophile, I succumbed and got Thielemann's Beethoven cycle on blu ray. The sound, picture quality and playing are outstanding but I have mixed feelings about the conducting. I find it curious that Gramophone and Classics today have not reviewed these performances. Since Riccardo Chailly's cycle is about to be released, I would be much interested to know what others feel about the Thielemann cycle. Regards Anand
