May 2012

The May edition of Gramophone is now available in which we launch the inaugural Gramophone Hall of Fame. We celebrate the 50 people who have changed recorded classical music, as voted for by Gramophone readers. From Abbado to Schwarzkopf, the list is a tribute to the classical world's greatest names - with more to be added each year. And you can find complimentary online coverage here.

Elsewhere in the issue Joyce DiDonato discusses starring in Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking in her Musician's Diary; we report on Robin Ticciati and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra's recording of Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique in our Session Report; pianist Yevgeny Sudbin talks through Rachmaninov's Paganini Rhapsody in The Musician and the Score; and we present our annual Summer Festival Guide showcasing the season's very best musical events across the UK, Europe and North America.

As always we select the best new recordings of the month - and you can
read reviews of these and many more recordings by some of the world's
best critics.

The May edition is available now and the June edition will be released on May 11, 2012.
