YouTube throws up some wondrous things. It throws up a lot of grumpy cats and squirrels falling over too, but every so often you find something inspired.

So here we have a range of breathtaking escapades from Buster Keaton films underscored by John Adams's orchestral work Fearful Symmetries (1988).

Looking back at Keaton's effortlessly graceful lunacy, I can't think of any actor today who could do what he did, or who would take the physical risks that he took - there's no CGI safety net here!
