Log on to the Gramophone Player to listen to movements or tracks from all of this month’s Editor's Choice recordings, plus excerpts from the Reissue and DVD of the Month. There’s also a newly transferred Recording From the Archive, a new complete work, and you can compare samples from this month’s The Collection. All Editor's Choice tracks click through to the Gramophone review, and all tracks have a link to where you can buy the recording.

This month's Gramophone Player opens with our Recording of the Month – soprano Juliane Banse's disc of opera arias - including works by Bizet, Gounod, Mozart and others – on the Hänssler label. Listen to her sing 'Wie nahte mir der Schlummer…Leise, leise, Fromme Weise' from Weber's Der Freischütz.

The other nine Editor's Choice recordings include Yevgeny Sudbin playing Beethoven on BIS, more Sir Thomas Beecham from Somm – this time hear the great conductor in Schubert's 9th Symphony – and Pergolesi's Stabat mater, featuring Anna Netrebko and Marianna Pizzolato, conducted by Antonio Pappano for DG. You can hear excerpts from them all.

Karita Mattila stars in Kát’a Kabanová in our DVD of the Month – watch an excerpt – and the Reissue of the Month is a wonderful 19-CD box set of music by Percy Grainger.

The April issue of Gramophone contains a 25-page exploration of film music, and to help us celebrate the music of Ennio Morricone, Warner Classics has kindly offered us four pieces by him - including from the scores of Once Upon A Time in America and Cinema Paradiso - to feature on the Gramophone Player.

The Gramophone Collection in the April issue of the magazine is of Vaughan Williams's Sinfonia antartica, and you can hear movements from three of the recommended recordings on the Player.

And as always, we've transferred a recording from the Archive: this month it's The Golden Line of Polyphony, a recording of Willaert, Sweelinck, Vivaldi, Gabrieli and Mozart by Alma Musica, originally released by London Ducretet-Thomson.

Every track has a direct link through to where you can buy the recording. To launch the Player simply click the button on the right-hand side of this screen (you need to be registered and logged in) – or to find out more about how it works, click here. UK subscribers should have received their copy of the April 2011 edition of Gramophone - the magazine is available on the UK news stands from Monday March 7. You can also find out more about our new Digital Edition here.

Happy listening!
