Benjamin Britten – by his latest biographer, Paul Kildea

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

The centenary of Benjamin Britten's birth falls this coming November and to mark Britten Year, a couple of new biographies have been published. Paul Kildea's Benjamin Britten: A Life in the Twentieth Century has just been published by Penguin; James Jolly talks to Paul Kildea about Britten in this first 'Gramophone Milestones Podcast', produced in association with EFG International, the private bank for classical music.

Musical excerpts come from Britten's extensive catalogue for Decca who are gathering together the Complete Works for release in time for this year's Aldeburgh Festival.
