The September issue of Gramophone is now on sale! Inside we celebrate a century of recordings by the Berlin Philharmonic for Deutsche Grammophon, a partnership which began with Beethoven's Fifth Symphony under Arthur Nikisch and continued through the years with some of the greatest collaborations between conductor and orchestra - Furtwängler, Karajan and Abbado to name just three.
