One of the most highly anticipated events at this year’s BBC Proms – beginning this evening – is Daniel Barenboim’s complete Ring Cycle in concert featuring the Staatskapelle Berlin and soloists including Nina Stemme, Anja Kampe, Lance Ryan and Ian Storey. The composer’s 200th anniversary is also being celebrated in 2013 with the release of Barenboim’s 1992 Bayreuth Ring cycle in both standard and high definition video through iTunes - the first time a film of the Ring has been available to download through the Apple store.

Directed by Harry Kupfer and featuring soloists Poul Elming, Nadine Secunde, John Tomlinson, Anne Evans and Siegfried Jerusalem, the Warner Classics release was also made available on Bluray on March 4, and has been available on DVD and CD for several years.

You can download all four operas - Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdammerung - separately through iTunes.
