Hi, iv come looking for some advice/ or if you could send me in the right direction? I have a collection of old records/vinyls that were left in the loft of my house by the previous owner the family didn't want them and I was told to bin them! That was a few years ago and they're still there! the reason I never disposed of them at the time was I believe them to be quite old some are in leather case and some were gifted to the owner by the grammerphone society, I think it's mostly classical but there are some that I think are maybe teaching a foreign language. It seems such a waste to throw these away when perhaps they have some history to them. Any ideas who/where I could contact to see if they are of any value (not in terms of money) but more to a museum or similar? Thank you for any help, Karen

The overwhelming majority of classical vinyl records are of no real value and it is unlikely they would be of interest to a museum. Try posting a few titles of individual lps and people may be able to give you more advice -we would need to know the work/composer/orchestra/conductor and the record label. The record label is very important.

In the back pages of Gramophone are contact details for a few dealers who will buy (and collect) collections of vinyl.
You could contact them.
Best wishes
