'Abbado: Beethoven' contains Abbado's complete Beethoven symphony and piano concerto (with pianist Maurizio Pollini) recordings with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. The Haydn collection features seven of the 'London' Symphonies and the Trumpet Concerto in E flat (with trumpeter Adolph Herseth) recorded with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. 'Abbado: Mendelssohn' includes Abbado's recordings of the symphonies and various overtures with the London Symphony Orchestra, plus the Violin Concerto (with violinist Shlomo Mintz) and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
