Three extracts from the AAM's new edition of Handel's Brockes-Passion, due for release in early October

On Good Friday this year at the Barbican Hall in London, the Academy of Ancient Music premiered their new edition of Handel's Brockes-Passion, which was the result of two years of musicological investigation. The AAM have recorded this new version of Brockes-Passion, featuring Elizabeth Watts, Cody Quattlebaum, Nicky Spence, Tim Mead, Ruby Hughes, Robert Murray and more, directed by Richard Egarr, and the recording is due to be released on the orchestra's own label on October 4.

We are pleased to premiere three movements from Handel's Brockes-Passion – arias  'Mein Vater, mein Vater!' and 'Ist's möglich, ist's möglich', and the accompagnato 'Das ist Mein Leib' – performed by Quattlebaum and the AAM with Peter Whelan directing from the harpsichord.
