The brilliant young saxophonist plays 'Brazileira' ahead of her Last Night of the Proms debut

It has been quite a year for the young saxophonist Jess Gillam. In May she was signed by Decca Classics and her debut recordings for the label are released today as singles – Michael Nyman's 'If' and Milhaud's 'Brasileira' – and tomorrow night she will make a double appearance at the BBC Proms, firstly in Hyde Park for the Proms in the Park and secondly in the Royal Albert Hall at the Last Night of the Proms concert. At the Last Night she will play the ‘Brazileira’ (from Milhaud's Scaramouche), and we are pleased to premiere the video of the piece on the Gramophone website today. You can enjoy the video below:
