Chris, come in out of the cold.

Chris, come back to the forum.  You are missed and some threads need you, not least your great Bach Cantata thread.

As none of my posts were directed at you, I regret the fact that they upset you so much.  The days of our personal antipathy are lost in the mists of time (as Jane might poetically put it), so, what do you think?

Vic.

Indeed, Chris. Whilst I've tried to avoid, by and large, most of the more vituperative and combative non-musical exchanges on the forum (and am certainly not seeking to make any point whatever by saying that) I nonetheless look forward with great interest to reading your posts, especially when they are, as in the case of the Bach cantatas, about music which is not wiothin my normal areas of interest.

It would be a real shame if such obvious knowledge and love of music were not to be shared by as many as possible.

Well, thanks Vic!  It's nice to be wanted of course! Not so cold here though! Thanks too to you JKH. Difficult to resist.

I'll try my best but must hope that peace has broken out so that threads may flourish again. A lot of people left the Bach threads during the turmoil. But anyway, I'll prepare something in a little while for the next two Sundays'  cantatas and we'll see if people return. But it takes more than one to tango even to Bach cantatas! I shall expect responses from two of you at least then!

For the Lamentations with the Tallis Scholars: no, no, Westminster Cathedral Choir are much to be preferred!

Hi Chris! Welcome back. I agree totally with Vic and JKH.

Have I missed something? I thought you were just away for the weekend.

Where are we up to with the Bach Cantatas?

Welcome back, Chris. I am really pleased you returned.

I am on Gramophone holiday for the moment, but will hopefully 'see' you in a few weeks.......

I was the only one I didn't worry. I think I read in one of your posts that you would be out for the weekend. However, you created some panic...Well done, even unwittingly.

OK, it seems I must prepare something before next Sunday, the third after Trinity.

Tomorrow.

Prepare something? Herr Kapelmeister? Are you composing a new work for us?!

Please make the keyboard part easy...

Indeed Mark it does make one think.  I need some time to write a couple of paragraphs about a cantata. Spare a thought for old JSB who, as well as teaching in the School, had to write a cantata, copy the parts, rehearse and perform it each week, week after week!  Unbelievable really!
