I quite like the site, and its blogs/ forums!

Hi folk, I have only started contributing recently, as I have not been a regular visitor, but it is interesting to see the forums... they seem much quieter than perhaps I would have expected.

My first impression is that there are a lot of complaints and reaction to one particular poster - my view? why not ignore them? The whinging seems to fill half the forum, and doesnt encourage me to stay.

My other impression is that any new poster who turns up enthusiastic about something seems to be whinged about and accused of spamming - hardly friendly and welcoming! Why not engage with the poster first? I am sure if they are bots spamming a site they will not be able to hold up a conversation!

I think this could be a very interesting forum, and some aspects of it already are. I have no idea whether I will stick around, but I will probably pop in from time to time when I have something I wish to research, or something I am enthusiastic about I want to tell people about

Which brings me to another impression: I see some posters asking questions and getting unfriendly replies, or little help. A tip people - if you dont like someone else's reply, ignore it, and add a nice one of your own addressed to the opening poster. That way the site will quickly become more friendly and collaborative, and a bit less confrontational. Anyone too snooty about things will simply be ignored! :-)
